At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the In Vitro Pharmacology group is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

Research Associate (f/m/d)

Full-time and permanent

to lead a research team in the discovery of novel therapeutic approaches within Evotec’s Integrated Drug Discovery organization.

Independently design and contribute to the establishment and validation of in vitro assays
Characterize the pharmacology of small ligands and biologics in preclinical drug discovery programs
Execute project related experimental activities and/or organize lab activities of laboratory staff in a matrix environment
Supervise data generation and interpretation and communicate project data in multidisciplinary project teams
Assume line management responsibilities including mentoring and developing a small team of research assistants
Actively contribute to the proposal generation process for new opportunities in preclinical drug discovery
Keep up-to-date with scientific findings from literature, scientific meetings or other sources
Represent In vitro pharmacology on drug discovery projects

PhD degree in Biology/Pharmacology, with a focus on cellular biology and in vitro pharmacology
Relevant post-doc experience in biochemical and cellular assay development preferably in Pharma or Biotech – enzyme pharmacology knowledge would be a plus
Proven ability to apply these skills to cell-based assay development and drug screening
Hands on experience in in vitro assay technologies (radiometric, FLIPR, HTRF, MSD, Luminex, etc. ) and automation, applied to 96 and 384 well plates formats
Proven experience in quantitative pharmacology to determine basic pharmacological parameters like potency, affinity, efficacy as well as to evaluate the mechanism of action of compounds
Experience in drug discovery is desirable
Excellent interpersonal, technical and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional project teams and within a matrix and culturally diverse environment
Good English verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of German is a plus
