Tasks: • Serve as the primary point of contact for all taxation matters concerning the German group entities, offering support during tax audits. • Manage, oversee, and evaluate tax returns, e-balance submissions, and tax planning calculations for the German group entities. • Ensure accurate and timely completion of the closing process, encompassing the creation of tax reporting packages, addressing tax accounting aspects, and determining tax provisions, including deferred taxes, aligned with IFRS for the German group entities • Execute SOX controls and oversee the management of related documentation. • Contribute to the review of contracts from a tax perspective, focusing on clauses related to WHT, VAT, and CIT. • Assist in crafting, updating, and maintaining tax guidelines. Also, contribute to the enhancement and adaptation of the Tax Compliance & Risk Management System, considering factors such as altered legislation or modified reporting prerequisites. • Coordinate and collaborate with external tax advisors. • Provide support for strategic initiatives and handle conceptual matters, including German restructuring, M&A, and investments. Requirements: • Hold a Master’s degree in Taxation, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a relevant field with an emphasis on Taxation. • Essential requirement: Certification as a German Tax Advisor (Steuerberater). • Substantial professional experience within a Big4 firm or an in-house tax department setting. • Ideally, have experience dealing with complex global group structures (Konzernerfahrung). • Possess an in-depth understanding and practical exposure to IFRS, HGB, and German Tax Law, notably covering Trade Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, and VAT. • Familiarity with regulated environments and the need for meticulous documentation, complemented by a hands-on attitude and practical problem-solving skills to ensure compliant outcomes. • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. • Familiarity with SOX procedures would be advantageous. • Self-motivated with strong initiative. • Skilful in prioritization and adept at managing conflicting priorities. • Effective presentation and communication skills spanning all organizational levels. • Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken English and German.
